Naoki Urasawa's Monster
Genres: Drama, Horror, Mystery, Psychological, Thriller
Plot Summary:
Anime News Network wrote:Kenzou Tenma, a Japanese brain surgeon in Germany, had it all: incredible skill at his work, a rich and beautiful fiancee, and a promising career at his hospital. However, after becoming disenchanted by hospital politics, he chose to save the life of a young boy who got shot in the head over the life of the mayor. As a result he lost the support of the hospital director, as well as his position in the hospital and his fiance. A short time later, the hospital director and the doctors that replaced him were murdered, and once again he was catapulted back onto the top. But as the chief suspect of the murders, Tenma did not get a easy life. As a matter of fact, it seems that the boy he saved was much more than he had appeared to be... Now to clear his name and to correct his past mistake, Tenma must get to the bottom of these and other murders, and investigate the truth of the Monster who is behind all of this.

Re: Naoki Urasawa's Monster
This is a really good series so far. I'm only on episode 10 but if you guys like a good mystery/thriller I definitely suggest checking this out. It's really similar to Death Note, fans of that show will definitely like this.
Re: Naoki Urasawa's Monster
I watched it when it aired on SyFy. I enjoyed it, even if the ending was kinda WTF.
Re: Naoki Urasawa's Monster

I've seen a few that aren't based in Japan either, but I really just couldn't get into the story of Le Chevalier. I'll give it another try once I'm done with Monster though. Have you ever seen Gankutsuou? That's another really good one that's kinda like Monster, the psychological aspects at least.

Re: Naoki Urasawa's Monster
Yeah you should check it out, it's one of my favorite anime's. It's pretty short, only 24 episodes but it's a really unique interpretation of The Count of Monte Cristo.
Re: Naoki Urasawa's Monster
whoa, that's an interesting looking anime there

It is! You should check it out if you ever get the chance.
Re: Naoki Urasawa's Monster
Finally finished this yesterday, it was a really good ending. Ambiguous, but good nonetheless.
Re: Naoki Urasawa's Monster
I saw this for the first time last year on SciFi.. I thought it looked kinda boring at first, but I made myself watch for a couple weeks... And I like it. More anime should be like this.

Re: Naoki Urasawa's Monster
Yep it's a little slow paced to begin with but once it really kicks in it's really good. This might be one of my all time favorites now, lol.
