Re: Manga in Japanese
I would be interested in trying it...if it was all in hiragana x_x"""
Try reading Yotsubato. I posted some info about it in the forums.
Find manfa that had furigana. That's hiragana over the kanji. Makes life easier.lol

Lol. Google it and look for the japanese copy. It has kanji, but the furigana at the top so you can read it. Furigana is hiragana
Re: Manga in Japanese
Hell no. If and until I learn Japanese, I'm sticking to English-translated manga.
Re: Manga in Japanese
Lol it's just practice once you know a lot of the basic grammar. Then you can try to read it.
It's best to try to read something not so complicated and actiony. Like slice of life stories. The wont have too many complex terms in it and such.

Re: Manga in Japanese
even so, I bet it would take a lot longer to read in Hiragana than it would in English.

This is just if you want to practice reading in Japanese some good manga. If you dont really want to, stick to English.lol
Re: Manga in Japanese
Kodomo no Jikan isn't even available in English
so if I wanna read it, Japanese is my only choice

Ooohhh i see. I was like that for a few things, then found out ow much easier it was online.
It can get pretty expensive.
Re: Manga in Japanese
true, very true
but for some reason I feel the need to own
I've read online before and even checked them out from the library, but it just didn't feel the same to me.
in the words of Konata Izumi, "When you love something, don't you want to own everything it has to offer?"

Re: Manga in Japanese
haha
I feel ya on that. But me personally, I have a habit of only reading things once. So for me to just buy it just to read once is a waste.
But i know i understand the feeling it and having it part. It does feel better. Feels more real or something.

I love going back on series I truly loved, so it's no big deal for me
I must have watched some of my favorite anime series about 7 or 8 times by now ^-^

Re: Manga in Japanese
well whatever you wanna do is fine. I'm sure I've already spent a small fortune in all the manga and DVDs I've collected, so at least you're saving money in that sense.
