this is an interesting series I got into a while ago. the story takes place in another galaxy where men and women live on separate planets and are hostile toward one another. the story follows a young man named hibiki tokai, a parts mechanic and a third-class citizen (the lowest) with a big heart and attitude. one day he decides to sneak on a military spaceship to steal a mech called a "van-type" but is caught. before they can execute him however the ship comes under attack by a band of pirates, female pirates. after a struggle and a strange warp hibiki along with two other from the men fleet are stuck with the women on their ship and then now must coexist to survive alien attacks. a very good mech series that quickly became one of my favorites.

of course the most interesting thing of the series to me is the relationship between hibiki and dita that develops through the course of the series. oh, and I have the entire series on DVD as well
