I have a Macbook Pro, I use Divx Player for Mac to view MKV videos. If you download the free version it should work fine. :]

Have you tried the VLC Player and see if that works? I don't have any MKV files to try it out but supposedly it works.

I found one that works. It's called iShysoft Video Converter.

should be noted i now have a 15" macbook pro 2.2 GHz (quad-core); with 8gigs of RAM and a 500GB hard drive
