The Wii U
The successor of the Wii is coming.

It's said to be more powerful than the PS3 and X360. It certainly can do HD graphics, is backward-compatible with Wii games and accessories (but not the Gamecube's which is a bummer), its game disks are not Blu-Ray like the PS3's but will have enough storage to rival Blu-Ray (essentially, it's Blu-Ray but without the brandname), it has a hard drive inside instead of the little flash memory the the Wii does, and is said to be doing away with the rather unpopular Friend Code system and adopting an online matchmaking system similar to those on the PS3 and X360.
The controller may take some getting used to. Plus, apparently you can only have one controller per console, which is a shame. But that means that there may be a more traditional controller sold with the game for more traditional gaming. Speaking of which, the Wii U already has strong third party support, something the Wii lacked.
It won't be out until next year, but I can see the potential in it.

Re: The Wii U
for nintendos sake i really wanted them to do well at E3 . . . which i think that they didnt. but it was more because they didnt come out strong enough with this console. hopefully, in tha months before it makes its debut, it will start to show us more of what it can do. and i may just invest it it
Re: The Wii U
Yeah, they focused more on the tablet controller than the console itself, at least during the conference.
I'm sure by next year we'll be treated with a plethora of 1st and 2nd party titles (including Smash Bros. Wii U (and 3DS)).

Re: The Wii U
The 3DS is starting to impress me now. At launch, while I knew I was going to get one eventually, at that point I didn't want it. Now there's quite a few promising games coming out for it, and I think it's a good time to get one. ...Well, as soon as that red model comes out here.
And when I get some income.
