The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 600full-the-melancholy-of-haruhi-suzumiya-poster

Synopsis: This story is through the eyes of the narrator and character Kyon, who meets a girl named Haruhi. Haruhi Suzumiya isn't interested in normal people. She wants to meet aliens, time travelers, espers, and sliders. Life is just more interesting that way. So she creates a club to try and find all these things with her classmates, Kyon, Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi. Little does she know they're all these things. Nagato is an alien, Asahina is a time traveler, and Koizumi is an esper, with Kyon being the only normal one. Even though they're exactly what Haruhi is looking for, they decide not to tell her. Why? Because Haruhi is god. But she doesn't know that either. Whether this group is what they are because they were born that way or because Haruhi wished for it is unclear. The trouble is that if Haruhi knew these things existed, then she would throw away all logic she has as a "normal" girl and create who knows what in a world more to her liking! Haruhi has the ability to destroy the world and remake it as a world that fits her interests better, but again she doesn't know this. So their club, the SOS Brigade, which is composed of aliens, time travelers, and espers, must work hard to keep Haruhi entertained without realizing what's going on. Whether Haruhi is barking orders at her classmates to do strange and ridiculous tasks, dressing up like maids and bunny girls, or solving murders and mysteries for the people around them, The SOS Brigade can't let their leader down. Otherwise, the melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya could mean the end of the world as we know it.

I've seen it like 5 times. and that's just season 1. anyone who knows me knows that Bill is to Haruhi Suzumiya as RKO is to Gurren Lagann.

oh, you worry too much Gunner.

fine. if you want it dubbed, you could use justdubs.net
for subs, try animecrunch.com, or maybe just youtube it for either one.

So I assume you've read the light novels, manga, and watched the movie.

scratch that. movie is now watched! and it was great ^_^
after my post I thought "I'm supposed to be a fan of this series. What reason do I have for NOT watching it?"

you should definitely watch MD. julia watched all of about 5 seconds of it and then turned it off. how dare she? Evil or Very Mad
I think she's jealous I pay more attention to the goddess of the SOS Brigade than I do the goddess of the MSAF. but I'm sure there are a few things you'll enjoy about the series.

I thought the dubs stayed relatively faithful to the subs. besides a very small change here and there. or did you mean something else?

i hate their voices . . . japanese voices are cuter . . . they dont hav to try to hard . . . when they dub it it sounds so forceful . . . i dont think u can call it acting

mm, I see. I've never been particularly bothered by dub voices. I watch about as many subs as I do dubs.

The only time I ever found it really odd was that crazy voice Death used in Soul Eater. When reading the manga I imagined him with a much darker, stronger voice. but even so I wasn't too put off by it.

to each their own. the upside of subs is that you never have to wait for it to be dubbed ^_^

I'm kind of on the fence about dubbed anime's i mean imo it's gotten better overall but there are still bad examples like this out there

This was one of the few dubs I didn't mind at all. Sure there was some nit picking but over all I liked the dub. However, I still like the japanese seiyu's more.
