The blog formerly known as "Gaijin Smash", this is the story of a Black guy who goes to teach English in Japan through the JET program, gets into all kinds of shenanigans with the kids, stays in the country, and eventually marries there. It's a very interesting read.

I plan on hopefully teaching English for a little bit in Japan. It seems fun. Very Happy They pay for your housing and it's easy to save money. You dont need to know Japanese to teach. Just need to be fluent in English. Very Happy

Yep. Go check out programs. Also, you dont need a specific degree to teach. You just need a bachelor's degree.

Well when you teach, you aren't allowed to speak in Japanese to them.

Well of course its good to know basics to get around though. And you will pick up in the language by making friends and stuff too.

I guess that makes sense. I remember my old Spanish teacher saying that eventually she'd only be speaking in Spanish to us and she expected us to do the same with her and each other.

...She never followed through on that. :/

Haha. But yeah anyone can get a job teaching English. For prestigious private schools or universities, you might have to have a teaching certificate or something, but other than that if you are fluent and know basic grammar you are good.

I've heard of complete morons teaching English. People that aren't that good, but they just want fluent people. haha

But if you wanted to teach in the US, you have to have a decree for that and stuff so it'r moe sticked of course.

Screw teaching in the States, I'd rather teach in Japan. lol

Now, that's one thing, but if the Gaijin Smash/Chronicles blog is anything to go by, I'd have to also avoid getting Kancho'd and dick-grabbed by those kids. >_>

According to the blog, the kids (mainly the boys) love to do that. Especially if you're a Black male (who are stereotypically depicted as being well-endowed down there).
